歡迎Bill Scherkenbach先生訪問品質學會,感謝他懇談:「他們」的失敗,就是「我們」的失敗!


有朋自遠方來,不亦樂乎!

周 日,我接到Bill Scherkenbach(簡稱WWS)自己整理的榮譽事蹟、作品履歷表,就將它轉給陳寬仁老師和品質學會CSQ的關秘書長:「本周WWS在台灣。他上回 在台灣的時候說,他願意花一晚上,與CSQ朋友聚會,彼此談一下、做朋友、交換心得。如果大家對於這構想有意思的話,我可安排,請賜時間。以下是他自行選 的”重要作品項目”(
Selected Significant Works)。」

由於「大家」分散各地,都很忙於自己的事業,彼此見面的時間很難安排。我建議Bill 一起參加這周四的QKC(品質知識社群)的聚會,
如此,許多人可畢數功於一議/役(我會當即席翻譯(如有必要);由關先生處知道還有「國際關係委員會」在開會), 不亦方便哉!(案--Bill

我原先希望Bill能和陳教授、林公等朋友(如果那些朋友要一起來,就請通知一聲(自費呵…..)),大約於1800在學會(CSQ)附近晚餐。後來WWS說他約1830才有空(Hanching:I
will be offsite at a supplier on Thursday and wont be available until
after 1830. I will find out today the time.
)我就通知林公和陳老師:看來似乎周四晚餐要各自解決。他並沒再聯絡我………


我已與當事者WWS和關先生連絡過,我大概在1840去中正紀念堂大門接他,然後去學會附近吃碗牛肉麵,再去學會,請簡介一下 ,之後我們去QKC。這回
由於聯絡溝通都碰到許多問題,若有不便之處,請原諒。

WWS 為我們講一篇論文摘要。之後,盧瑞彥先生說WWS不同凡饗,從細節處出發(不像一般所謂「大師」放言高談些脫離現實之理論)找出許多值得令人深思之經營管 理盲點。林公孚先生與他談『戴明博士的世界』,WWS再一次強調他的哲學之重點:對於領導者,問對問題遠比其他都重要。他的論文說明一般公司把資料歸檔了 事或「過分近視」,都忘掉統計與品管的根本目標。無獨有偶,這種看法許多人都有共鳴:Peter Drucker did say that the ”leader of the past was a person who knew how to tell and the leader of the future will be the person who knows how to ask…
